Hello and welcome to my virtual home on the internet!
If you were stepping into my actual home, I would probably be tugging aside the curtains to let in as much sunlight as possible and offering you a cup of coffee or tea. And once our hands were curled around our warm cups, I would probably kick off my shoes to sit more comfortably on the couch as I ask you a bit about your life and those you love. But then again, if you were in my actual home, you would probably also be sidestepping around my son’s toys on the floor and our conversation might be punctuated with pauses as I stop him from climbing on the table or pulling our cats tail!
But that’s me. I love light and beauty, but I also value authenticity, relationship, and connection over perfection. And that’s true in both my life and my photography. I strive to create images that are lovely and full of emotion, but also authentic to you and your life. I may arrive at your session with an artistic vision, but that vision is steeped in what I know of you and the things that uniquely make your heart come alive and becomes fluid as I watch you move and interact.
And I care just as much about your experience of our session as I do about the finished product. When you step or sit or cuddle in front of my camera, I want you to feel comfortable in your own skin and surrounded by love. I’ll walk you through all the details of what to expect (and what to wear!) before the session so that when the camera starts clicking, you are able to let out your breath, relax, and just enjoy being in the moment, doing the things you love with the people you love.
Because that’s what this is all about: Creating a memory together with those you love and with it, producing tangible images of those precious and fleeting moments together. It’s about catching the way your fiancé looks up at you or the way your husband gently touches your back. It’s about freezing your daughters curls or the way your son crinkles his nose. It’s about the giggle that erupts when you toss your children up in the air or the way she settles into the crook of your arm.
